The Future of an Inclusive City: A Researchers' Hackathon on 21/02/2025

On February 21, 2025, the Ghent University Interdisciplinary Consortia for Science and Society (IDC) is organizing a hackathon titled The Future of an Inclusive City: A Researchers’ Hackathon. This exciting event invites researchers to collaborate, innovate, and develop solutions for a better Ghent.
Using rich datasets like the Ghent Health Monitor and the City of Ghent Dashboard, participants will investigate key urban challenges related to health, lifestyle, and civic engagement. Through data exploration and group collaboration, the hackathon aims to generate tangible outcomes, including research proposals and policy recommendations that could directly benefit the city’s residents.
The IDC is a network of interdisciplinary consortia at Ghent University focused on bridging the gap between science and society. By fostering collaboration across disciplines and addressing real-world challenges, the IDC aims to make research impactful and accessible to the broader community.
